My dear friends,

I am writing to you with a heavy heart but I’m sure that you have been expecting to hear from us regarding our activities.

In light of the present awful situation that we are all in you will not be surprised to hear the sad news that we have decided to cancel our concerts at the end of May. Even if the situation in Spain with Covid-19 were to have improved significantly so that we could start to rehearse towards the end of April (and that looks increasingly doubtful) we would not have enough time to ensure a good performance. It is also unlikely that the hotel and churches would be able to receive us. Furthermore, we have to let the professional musicians that have been engaged know in good time so that they can plan accordingly.

We will let you know by e-mail as soon as we can start to make music together once again but that is in the lap of the gods right now!

I hope that you are all managing to keep well and that the lock-down is not having too much of an effect on your sanity. The weather is set to improve on Thursday and a little sunshine will surely help to lift our spirits ……. and the clocks go forward on Sunday so the evenings will be lighter!

Next Tuesday is the last Tuesday of March so I will try to do the 100 Club draw live via a Watch Party on Facebook. I wonder if we would be coping with this situation quite as well without our Smartphones and computers?????
