Christmas Concerts Marbella and Fuengirola 2026

An Invitation from Collegium Musicum Costa del Sol

Dear Friends,

I hope you have had a lovely summer, wherever in the world you have spent it, and that you are enjoying the beginning of autumn.

Here at Collegium Musicum Costa del Sol, we have already started a new season, and it has been a pleasure to get together again after the summer break. Under the guidance of our Musical Director, Delyth Bressington, rehearsals are well underway, and we are delighted to welcome some new members to our choir and orchestra.

As you may know, Collegium Musicum is a non-profit musical society that has been bringing people together through music on the Costa del Sol for 50 years. What makes our society particularly special is its international character: people of different ages, nationalities and musical backgrounds come together, from enthusiastic amateurs to experienced professional musicians, all sharing a love of music. For many of us, it is much more than simply singing or playing in an orchestra; it is also about friendship, community and sharing something beautiful with others.

We are now looking forward to our Christmas concerts in December, the dates and venues are now confirmed and we would be delighted to welcome you to one of them. This year, Delyth has selected and adapted a wonderful programme that brings together music from different centuries, combining the beauty and grandeur of classical choral music with the warmth and joy of Christmas. One of the highlights will be John Rutter’s Magnificat, a vibrant and colourful work written in 1990. Inspired by the traditional song of Mary, it combines joyful rhythms, lyrical melodies and rich choral writing to create music that is both uplifting and accessible. We are particularly pleased to feature local soprano soloist Constanze Xue, whose voice will bring an extra sparkle to the performance. The programme also includes Johann Nepomuk Hummel’s Te Deum, a festive and elegant work full of the energy and brilliance characteristic of the classical period. Alongside these larger works, we will perform Robert Sheldon’s A Most Wonderful Christmas and Joyous Carols of Christmas, bringing the programme to a joyful and festive conclusion.

Our Christmas concerts

HOTEL IPV PALACE & SPA. Tickets €15; free admission for children under 16.

  • Marbella: Tuesday, 15 December 2026, at 20:00

As we prepare these performances, we are reminded how fortunate we are to have the opportunity to share live music with our audiences. However, putting on concerts of this scale involves considerable costs, from hiring venues and providing music to all the practical arrangements that make each performance possible.

As a non-profit society, we depend on membership subscriptions, ticket income, donations and the generosity of sponsors to keep our concerts going. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years, whether through attending our concerts, making a donation or helping us find sponsorship.

If you have enjoyed our music in the past and feel able to support us again, a donation of any size would be very much appreciated.

And if you, or someone you know, might be interested in sponsoring one of our concerts, we would be delighted to have a conversation. Sponsorship makes a real difference and helps us continue bringing live classical music to the Costa del Sol. There is also an option to buy advertisement space in our hand-out programme.

Donations can be made by bank transfer to:

Finally, if you know anyone who enjoys singing or playing an instrument, we are always happy to welcome new members. No matter their age, nationality or level of experience, there is a place for people who would like to make music and become part of our friendly international society.

Thank you for taking the time to read our news and for keeping Collegium Musicum in mind.

We value the friendships and support that have helped us flourish over the years, and we hope that our music will continue to bring people together for many years to come.

We hope to see you at one of our Christmas concerts!
